ACTNews, LOMBOK – Eid-ul-Adha in Indonesia is only a few hours away. All Muslims are preparing for this festive occasion, including Muslims in Lombok. Although the Island of a Thousand Mosques has just been shaken series of earthquakes, the spirit of Eid-ul-Adha filled the island. Animal sellers were suddenly popping out along the roads in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).
Lombok is ready for Eid-ul-Adha although this celebration would have to be held in evacuation tents. For three weeks, the Lombok earthquake victims have been dwelling the tents on open fields that they consider safe.
Global Qurban – Aksi Cepat Tanggap will share happiness to the people of Lombok. “Despite the disasters that happened lately, Global Qurban wants to share the happiness of Eid-ul-Adha by enjoying the qurbani meat,” said Director of Global Humanity Response – ACT, Bambang Triyono, on Monday (8/20).
For hundreds of thousands of evacuees filling the makeshift tents, thousands of sheep will be slaughtered and enjoyed by the people of Lombok. The slaughter will be done in every regency and city in Lombok.
In West Lombok Regency, the slaughter will be centered in Gunung Sari and Lingsar sub-district. In North Lombok, one of the regions that sustained heaviest damages, the slaughter will be done in Tanjung and Kayangan.
Although it will be centered in Tanjung and Kayangan, qurbani distribution will also be held in Pemenang, Gangga, and Kayangan sub-district. The slaughter will also be done in Central Lombok and Mataram.
For East Lombok, whose area is spacious, the slaughter location will be divided into two. For northern East Lombok, the slaughter will be centered un Sembalun. For southern East Lombok, the slaughter will join Central Lombok.
After the slaughter, the meat from Global Qurban – ACT will be distributed to beneficiaries in each Lombok village and hamlet. The meat won’t only be distributed raw. People can also enjoy the dishes from the Qurbani Kitchen together.
“The Qurbani Kitchen is ready to process some of the qurbani meat into delicious dishes for the evacuees,” concluded Triyono.
