ACTNews, JAKARTA – When one thinks about a journey, one will immediately think about how far they will go, how much time they will spend, and how many people they will meet and greet?
However, the best journeys are those done for the sake of Allah, for whoever does a good deed for the sake of Allah, Allah will reward them ten times the like thereof, as written in the 160th verse of the 6th chapter of the Qur’an.
Global Qurban – Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) has embarked on many journeys. Across many places and for many hours, the Global Qurban – ACT teams try to continuously spread goodness by reaching out to those far away from us to carry the qurbani packages from generous donors.
Since 2011, Global Qurban has invited and enjoined the Indonesian society to perform the qurbani during Eid-ul-Adha celebration. However, the aim is not the animal sacrifice in itself. Rather, it is the spirit of philanthropy and distribution of blessings during the Eid celebration.
For seven years, Global Qurban – ACT has reached 34 provinces, 250 cities, across Indonesia. The blessings of the qurbani packages have reached underprivileged families throughout the country.
In Eid-ul-Adha 2017 (1438 AH), Global Qurban team explored the south side of Sulawesi island. The team visited the people in Sumabu village, Lawu regency, South Sulawesi. The long distance did not stop the team from distributing goodness to remote areas in Indonesia.
Semabu Village only consists of 50 households. The majority of population work as farm workers. When the Global Qurban ACT team visited the village to perform animal sacrifice, the villagers welcomed them very warmly. They continuously expressed their gratitude for that.
Damis, one of the village elders of Semabu, stated that he was embarrassed by the team’s arrival. Perhaps, it was the only word that he was able to think of to express his overwhelming happiness for the qurban packages that reached his village.
“We are embarrassed that you came all the way here to deliver the meat packages,” said Damis.
This visit showed us the reality that many regions have not been reached by the happiness of Eid-ul-Adha. Apart from financial difficulties, the difficult access to these remote areas also become the main obstacle in the distribution of the sacrificial animals.
“However, this does not dampen our spirit to reach more people in every corner of Indonesia. Insha Allah, this year Global Qurban will reach more than 250 cities and regencies, including the remote areas,” explained Rini Maryani, the president of Global Qurban.
Maryani added that, last year, with the spirit of spreading as much blessing as possible, Global Qurban and the people of Indonesia has spread the blessings of qurbani not only to the areas throughout Indonesia but also 31 other countries. Insha Allah, with the same spirit, there will be more that will savor the delicious qurbani meat this year.
