ACTNews, JAKARTA – Less than one week to Eid al Adha, more people flock around the street. Even though this holiday recurs every year in Indonesia, the celebration remarkably always manages to move massive philanthropic action. Because of qurbani, everybody can taste meat and other delicacies. Because of qurbani, those in the most remote area can taste a piece of qurbani meat.
This second biggest holiday for Muslims can spread extensive goodness to people. The spirit of qurban to pursue taqwa swells, so does the spirit to share and care. This grand philanthropic moment is always recorded in six years of Global Qurban’s existence in conducting qurbani observation, in Indonesia and across the world.
Every year, Global Qurban always invites every element of Indonesia society to involve themselves in the movement to share the goodness of qurbani. This year, through a qurban momentum, Global Qurban also invites Indonesian journalists to be humanitarian volunteers and spread the spirit of qurban through journalistic work.
On Wednesday (24/8), this invitation also echoed in a media meeting titled “Building Humanitarian Journalist Volunteer”. Conducted in Cikini, Jakarta, dozens of mass media journalists came to this event.
Lukman Aziz of ACT Communication Team revealed, in this moment Global Qurban initiated an early discussion regarding Journalistic Work event for media members.
“We choose this theme to build volunteerism-based humanitarian journalists through their journalistic works. Insha Allah, this will bring blessing, since our journalistic peers inform many qurbani goodness to public. The best works will receive special award from Global Qurban,” he said.
Azis hoped, journalist who attended the event would be part of humanitarian journalists with volunteerism spirit.
This journalistic competition will be divided into four groups. First, videography journalism for television. Second, photojournalism for printed photography and online photography journalists. Third, written journalism for printed journalists. Fourth, written journalism for online media journalists.
