ACTNews, JAKARTA – After three-day-journey from Sumbawa regency, the Qurbani Ship finally arrived in Jakarta. On Monday (8/20), the Qurbani Ship harbored in the port of Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.
The arrival of KM. Cemara Nusantara 4 which was appointed as the Qurbani Ship was directly welcomed by Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) President Ahyudin, Global Qurban President, Rini Maryani, and Governor of Jakarta, Anies Baswedan. The livestock carrier brought 303 heads of Sumbawa cattle that will be slaughtered during Eid-ul-Adha.
Ahyudin stated that hundreds of heads of Sumbawa cattle brought by the ship were for the Qurbani Kitchen program. The collaborative program between Global Qurban - ACT and the provincial government of Jakarta will provide free Eid-ul-Adha dishes for the needy.
At 11 a.m. sharp, Governor of Jakarta Anies Baswedan, ACT President Ahyudin, and Global Qurban President RIni Maryani attended the welcoming of the Qurbani Ship at the port of Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.
“I hereby accept these cows. Insha Allah, they will be used as qurbani animals that will benefit our economically underprivileged brothers and sisters. Insha Allah, it will be a blessing for all. Thank you,” said Anies Baswedan during the symbolic handover of the cattle for the Qurbani Kitchen program for the people of Jakarta.
Qurbani Kitchens be present on 43 locations throughout the capital region and will be held during Eid-ul-Adha and three days afterwards, from August 22 to August 25. Apart from the meat distribution, on August 23rd, there’ll be a banquet in Jakarta Qurbani Kitchen, attended by the Governor of Jakarta, Anies Baswedan.
Approximately 2,000 packages of qurbani dishes will be served to be eaten by the attendees that include the governor of Jakarta and his staff along with the people of Jakarta.
“The theme of the qurbani kitchen is ‘Everybody is Happy to Enjoy’. In the Qurbani Kitchens, the fresh beef cuts from the Sumbawa cattle that were transported by the Qurbani Ship will be cooked into prepared meals. The needy in Jakarta can savor the delicious beef from the Sumbawa cattle,” said Ahyudin, Sunday (8/19).
Meanwhile, Maryani stated that the shipping of Sumbawa cattle for the Qurbani Kitchen program in Jakarta through the Qurbani Ship not only expands the joy of qurbani but also strengthens the brotherhood among Indonesians. This program also aims to empower cattle breeders in Sumbawa.
“Yes, hundreds of heads Sumbawa cattle were bought directly from local livestock raisers, some of whom are living in economically underprivileged condition. They were very happy when we bought their cattle at the best price, especially when they knew that their cattle will be sacrificed and distributed for the needy in Jakarta.
The welcoming of the Qurbani Ship was also followed by the inspection of the cattle’s health condition by Global Qurban and Jakarta government. This inspection was then followed by the handover of 303 heads of Sumbawa cattle by Global Qurban-ACT President to Jakarta governor Anies Baswedan.
Upon its arrival to Jakarta, hundreds of these cows were gathered in Cakung Slaughterhouse. Here, the cows’ health will once again be inspected by Jakarta Department of Food Security, Marine, and Agriculture.
After the health inspection, hundreds of these cows will be slaughtered in Cakung Slaughterhouse. The fresh cuts of beef will be distributed to 43 Qurbani Kitchens. The meat will then be cooked to be distributed to 121 dense and poor neighborhoods throughout Jakarta.
“May this collaboration between the government and the community will continue in future years. With qurbani kitchen, let us spread happiness for the people of Jakarta,” concluded Maryani.
